Diamond is used as an ideal material for RF micromotors and SAW devices

UNCD has the highest speed of sound, low power consumption (high Q value), low frequency temperature coefficient and linear frequency response at high frequency/power among all materials, making it an ideal material for RF MEMS devices in the GHz band. Use UNCD to directly integrate RF filters and switches with performance microelectronics to achieve enhanced performance and greatly reduce the size of the device.
The surface acoustic velocity of the diamond film can reach 9000~0000m/s, which is the highest among all current materials. Therefore, the highest frequency SAW device can be manufactured with diamond film. In addition, the high thermal conductivity of diamond enables SAW devices to withstand higher power. Japan's Sumitomo Electric Company is at the world's leading level in the manufacture of silicon-based diamond film substrate SAW devices. It has been able to achieve 5GHz in 2002.
